Wednesday 6th June, 2018

The Minister for Children & Youth Affairs Dr Katherine Zappone is pleased to announce the Programme Support Payment 2018.

Having first secured PSP in 2017 in recognition of the key role played by childcare providers in supporting the delivery of more affordable childcare for the families of more than 76,000 children, Minister Zappone is delighted to secure a further €18m, which will be paid to childcare providers in June 2018. Childcare providers will also receive payments towards the administration of the extended ECCE (free preschool) programme, with close to 120,000 children now benefitting annually from the scheme.

The funding secured will be apportioned out among childcare providers based on the proportion of registrations in each service. The payments will cover all of the schemes in respect of the 2017/2018 cycle. There will be only one payment for this cycle.

ECCE service will receive 7 days payment at the Standard Capitation Rate; and in recognition of the additional administration associated with the enhanced targeted schemes, all non-ECCE schemes will receive 14 days payment.

Childcare providers can find further details on the payment and the application process on the PIP Portal. The window for applications is from Wednesday 6th June to 22nd June inclusive.

Payments will be made to childcare providers in the last week of June. No further Programme Support Payments are planned for 2018.
