Kitchen Cook – Due to retirement
We are seeking a caring, reliable Kitchen Cook to join our Early Learning Centre in Kells. Kilkenny. This is a wonderful opportunity for someone who enjoys preparing nutritious meals and being part of a warm, child‑centred environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare healthy, balanced meals and snacks for children aged 1–5
- Follow all food safety, hygiene, and allergy‑management procedures
- Maintain a clean, organised kitchen at all times
- Work closely with the Early Years team to support children’s dietary needs
- Manage stock, ordering, and weekly menu planning (we operate a 3-week menu)
Requirements
- Experience in cooking for groups or in a childcare/education setting (preferred but not essential)
- Knowledge of HACCP and food safety standards – (HACCP L2 training can be provided)
- Ability to work independently and maintain high hygiene standards
- Friendly, positive attitude and a genuine interest in supporting young children
Hours & Start Date: Full time – Monday–Friday (hours can be flexible). Start date December 26 (can be sooner).
