Position: CHILDCARE MANAGER
Location: Newpark Close Family Resource Centre
Job Description:
The Childcare Manager will manage the day-to-day running of the Growing Patch Childcare Creche and Afterschool service, ensuring high standards of care, education, safety, and hygiene.
The Manager will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of age appropriate, stimulating and play based curriculum in line with Aistear and Síolta frameworks.
The Manager will be responsible for the regulatory compliance with all external agencies, while promoting a positive, inclusive environment for children, staff, and families.
Key Responsibilities:
– Be fully responsible for the running of the school age and early years programmes
– Manage the large Childcare Team, including Supervisors, Childcare Practitioners, Kitchen and Maintenance Staff.
– Manage rosters, staffing, and recruitment.
– Handle all administrative duties including enrolments, invoicing, and reporting.
– Ensure compliance with Tusla regulations, Health & Safety, and all relevant legislation.
– Oversee curriculum implementation in line with Aistear & Siolta
– Support and direct the children’s individual needs and foster their social, emotional, and educational development.
– Maintain strong partnerships with parents, families and external agencies.
– Report to the Director of Services and the Board of Directors.
Essential Qualifications:
– Minimum Level 7 qualification in Early Childhood Education (Level 8 preferred)
– A Minimum of 3 years managerial experience in an early year and school age setting
– Strong knowledge of Aistear, Siolta, and Tusla regulations.
– Strong knowledge and experience of the Hive and keeping it updated.
– Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
– Garda Vetting and up-to-date Children First and First Aid training.
Skills & Competencies:
– Strong understanding of Aistear, Siolta, and child development principles and practise.
– Leadership, with effective team coordination and mentoring skills. Ability to work well with large team in a very busy service.
– Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact well with others.
– Strong organisational and administrative skills
– Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure

– Candidates who completed their qualifications outside of Ireland must have a qualification that is on the list of recognized qualifications issued by the Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth or have a letter from the DCEDIY confirming they can work in childcare in Ireland.
