The Children First Act, 2015 came into full effect on 11th December 2017.
The Act includes provisions to introduce mandatory reporting of child abuse and places a legal obligation on organisations providing services to children to prepare and publish a Child Safeguarding Statement. Services are required to publish their Child Safeguarding Statement by 11th March 2018.
Kilkenny CCC will facilitate a briefing on Completing a Child Safeguarding Statement on 7th February. These briefings will run from 7pm to 8.30pm and are free of charge.
