Further to the announcement made this morning by the Taoiseach Leo Varadkar TD of efforts to contain the spread of Covid-19, the consultation events on the new Funding Model and Workforce Development Plan will not go ahead as planned between the 19th March and 2 April. This is in an effort to minimise social contact during this period.
The national conversation on the future of the workforce and the future of funding within the sector remains as important as ever. We are considering how this conversation can proceed and will issue updates once available.
Kilkenny Childcare Committee invites you to a meeting with other colleagues in the county to talk about our future workforce and our future funding.
The consultation will take place on Thursday 19th March 2020 at 6.30pm in Hotel Kilkenny.
This meeting is part of a nationwide consultation that is taking place about the significant developments being proposed to our early learning and care and school-age childcare system, as part of First 5, the ten-year whole-of-Government Strategy for Babies, Young Children and their Families.
Anyone who works with or for children in an early learning and care and/or school-age childcare service would be really welcome – it’s a chance for you to make your voice heard on these important issues.
