This two-part project is designed for Early Childhood Practitioners & Primary School Teachers.
Participating teachers will renew their own enthusiasm for conserving Kilkenny’s biodiversity. They will be equipped with the confidence and resources to awaken childrens’ curiosity about the rich natural heritage all around them, as all are encouraged to become citizen scientists. A resource pack, designed specifically for children to explore Kilkenny’s wildlife, will be provided free of charge, and includes a notebook and pocket to record and collect what they find when exploring in the outdoors. Links will be made to Aistear and the Primary Curriculum. Topics such as birds, trees and mini-beasts will be explored. Facilitated by Caitríona McCabe and Mark Nolan of Biodiversity in Schools.
