Announcement on Opening of the Core Funding Sustainability Review Process

As part of the ongoing development of the fee management system under Core
Funding, the Department announced a new Fee Increase Assessment (FIA) process,
known as the Sustainability Review 2026/2027, whereby Partner Services charging
very low fees may apply for approval to increase up to an approved level.
The Sustainability Review opened on 24 September 2026 for applications and will
close on 20 November 2026.

Eligible services must have submitted all required documentation to their CCC before
the 20 November 2026 for the CCC to submit their application by the 20 November
2026. This includes your Child Enrolment Data and your approved 2026/27 fee table.
Any applications submitted after this date will not be considered for assessment.
Services who would like to apply must have returned a completed Self-Declaration
form to their local CCC by 30 September 2026. Any service who was not contacted by
their CCC and believes themselves to be eligible should make this known before this
date.

The onus is on the service to show evidence to their CCC that they are eligible. This
means having a fee below the relevant regional median threshold, which is available to
parents for the service’s full operational week. The Sustainability Review Process is
only open to those services who existed before the launch of Core Funding on 1
September 2022. Any requests for additions to the Sustainability Review received by
the Department after 30 September 2026 will not be considered
