Programme Aims:

The Diploma in Management Effectiveness & Practice aims to provide knowledge and skill development in delivering supervisory leadership and management in a modern commercial environment. Tailored specifically for those in or seeking supervisory/team lead roles, the programme provides a complementary set of modules which allow the student to explore topics such as personal effectiveness, team leadership and change management. In support of the learning experience and resulting application of learning to the student’s workplace, the programme is based on continuous assessment methodologies and offers an opportunity to gain accreditation through a balanced attendance at class based lectures/ workshops and work based assignments and learning guidance.

On successful completion of this programme, students should be able to:

  • Apply enhanced personal effectiveness skills to their role;
  • Develop job specific leadership and management competencies and skill sets;
  • Explore their personal strengths and weaknesses in delivery of leadership and management;
  • Analyse their leadership style and consider how this translates into work behaviour;
  • Deliver more effective decision making within team activities through the use of specific techniques;
  • Demonstrate best practice in developing a communication approach to meet the needs of a change programme;
  • Develop personal insight into one’s own skill set in relation to coaching and mentoring requirements.
